Another year of pee wee basketball has come to an end. This year the sixth grade boys had another successful year, although we had a few tough losses to some very good teams. The boys ended their season with two very good victories; we beat a very good Senath team with an outstanding effort from our boys and then finishing our season with a decisive victory over a tough Corning team.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the boys and their parents for allowing me to work with them over the past few months. They are a great group of young men and I enjoyed the time with each of them very much.

Beau Jett was a first timer to the traveling team and contributed some valuable minutes and some good three-point shooting. Landon Williams in his second year on the team also gave us some important minutes and is one of those kids who always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Reese Gurley, also in his second year on the team was one of the soundest players on the team and a very hard worker. Chad Reeves, also a second year player, was without a doubt the most improved player from last year. John Beck in his first year on the traveling team added tremendously to the squad. I believe he will be a stand-out in years to come. Zack Moore, in his second year on the team, started every game this year and did a great job with his quickness and good ball pressure defense. Nicholas Harris, in his third year on the traveling team, also started every game this year. He contributed a great deal to the team with his ability to play and score on the inside. Brayden Brewer, in his third year on the team, also started every game this year. Brayden had the ability to play on the inside and outside, and handled the ball very well. Logan Dixon, again in his third year on the team, also started every game for us this year. Logan played the role of a floor leader this year and did a very good job. I considered it a privilege to have worked with this group of boys.

I have had the privilege to work with the pee wee program for the past six years and am very thankful for that. I would like to thank everyone who has helped over the years. To Monty Howell and Billy Seal for refereeing many games, and Charles Richardson for filling in whenever he was needed. Also, I would like to thank Leann Mann and Coach Josh Robbins for their support and help. I also would like to thank Cole Baldwin for stepping up and coaching the fourth and fifth grade team and doing an excellent job with them. I would also like to thank my wife for putting up with all the traveling and all the time that has been put in the last several years. Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank Wade and Erica Harris for the great deal of time and effort they have put into the program over the past three years. Wade has been a great person to have coached with the past few years and I greatly appreciate him. Erica has put in a lot of behind the scenes time that most people are not aware of and has made the years go smoother.

Again, I say thank you to all those involved in the pee wee program and wish them continued success.
