Rev. Raymond Albert Johnson

Rev. Raymond Albert Johnson, 92, of Blytheville died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at the Great River Medical Center. Born in Piggott to the late Robert Albert and Lula (Duty) Johnson, he was retired minister and school teacher and a member of First Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband of 61 years and a devoted father who enjoyed being a ham radio operator.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Johnson, and two sisters, Marie Carter and Frances Binkly.

Mr. Johnson leaves his son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Kathy Johnson of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Malaika Johnson, Clifford Johnson and Luke Johnson, along with two brothers, Doyne Johnson and his wife Addie of Spokane, Mo., and Henry Johnson and his wife Bernice of Piggott.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 2, in the First Baptist Church Chapel in Blytheville with the Rev. Greg Bowers officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery. Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville was in charge of arrangements. Condolences can be e-mailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net.
