Dorothy Stairks

Dorothy Stairks, 82, of Piggott, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Piggott Community Hospital.

She was born September 24, 1927, in Craighead County, Ark., the daughter of the late Luther Hollis and Mabel Anna (Wright) Tindal.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Elgin; one brother, L.C. Tindal, and one sister, Wilma Tindal.

She is survived by two sons, Dewayne Stairks of Kennett and Roy Elgin of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one daughter, Carolyn Pinckney of Dyersburg, Tenn.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 2, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray officiating. Burial was in the Pine Log Cemetery at Brookland, Ark.
