Kenneth G. Parrish, 81, a resident of Clay County, died June 15, 2009, at his home in McDougal after a three month bout with cancer.

He was born March 22, 1928, in McDougal, to the late Furman Estle Parrish and Elsie Mae (Morrow) Parrish.

He was a self-employed owner of a transmission business in Jonesboro, was a veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sons, Roger Parrish and wife Nancy of Rockford, Ill., Dan Brothers and wife Sheila of Summerville, S.C., Chad Parrish and wife Angel of Light, Ark.; three daughters, Sheila Colburn of Paragould along with Debbie Montgomery and Felicia Montgomery both of Jonesboro; cousin, Flora Holland of Corning; eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, in Irby Funeral Home chapel at Piggott with Brother Jimmy Adcox officiating. Interment will follow in the Piggott Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers are sons, Roger Parrish, Dan Brothers and Chad Parrish along with Bill McCoy, Mark Lawrence and Kevin Jackson.

Visitation will be at Irby Chapel at 1 p.m. prior to the services.
