Homer Harold Phillips

Homer Harold Phillips, 76, of Piggott, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at the Piggott Community Hospital.

He was born May 7, 1933, in Boydsville, and was the son of the late J.W. (Jim) and Bertha (Bradberry) Phillips.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jack Phillips and one sister, Mildred Corwin.

Survivors include his wife, Lela Maxine of the home; seven children, Vickie Bratton and husband Rodney of North Little Rock, Anita Bellers and husband Teddy of Malden Mo., Terry Phillips and wife Rhonda of Piggott, Jerry Phillips and wife Trina of Corning, Debbie Jackson and husband Randy of McDougal, Karen Millikan and husband Jack of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Garry Phillips of Boydsville; fourteen grandchildren, Chris, Shannon, Nathan, Read, Kelley, Jennifer, Shelley, Layla, Jennifer, Trey, Chelsea, Shannon, Shala and Kimberly; nineteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sybil McPhearson and husband Roy and Vacle Olive and husband William both of Leachville, Ark. and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 29, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with John Bradshaw officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers were Rodney Bratton, Teddy Bellers, Terry Phillips, Jerry Phillips, Randy Jackson, Jack Millikan, and Garry Phillips. Honorary pallbearers were Read Phillips, Nathan Millikan, Trey Rigdon, Chris Bellers, Shannon Bellers and Shannon Jackson. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to New Hope Cemetery or the Wound Center at Piggott Community Hospital.
