Saturday will begin with scale and competition planes flying at different intervals and about 2 p.m. judging of civilian and military aircraft will be conducted. The fun fly is set for 3 p.m., followed by open flying and various feature flying segments. After dark those interested in trying night time flying will have the opportunity.
Sunday will include open and feature flying, with a raffle of donated items set for 2 p.m. Church and youth groups are also encouraged to attend the afternoon fly and those bringing a Sunday school announcement will get a free drink at the concession stand.
The Piggott R/C Modelers has members from Piggott, Poplar Bluff, Dexter, Campbell, Bernie, Gideon, Kennett, Brookland, Paragould, Jonesboro, Corning, McDougal and Greenway. In the past as many as 50 AMA registered pilots have attended, coming from Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Alabama.
This year's show promises to be a big one, with aircraft ranging in size from a one to two foot wing span to half-scale models with wing spans of 10-12 feet. Organizers also noted that AMA insurance is required for all those wishing to fly at the event.
There is no charge for admission for spectators and the public is encouraged to attend.
