Plans are currently underway for the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce annual banquet and business meeting, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 at the Piggott Community Center.

This year the theme will be "Hats off to Piggott," and all members are encouraged to decorate a table for the event in that theme. "With so many positive things taking place in Piggott right now, this should be an exceptional banquet theme," chamber secretary Sharon Bellers noted. "Hopefully, you're making plans to decorate a table for this year's event."

During the meal those in attendance will also be treated to a slide show, highlighting the many activities the chamber has been involved in during the past year along with photos of local business owners and individuals taking their "Hats off to Piggott". During the slideshow presentation there will also be entertainment provided by the "Sons of the Western Bootheel" from Kennett.

Another returning favorite for 2008 will be the silent auction, which organizers promise will be handled more efficiently this year.

Those who would like to reserve a table for decorating, make a donation to the silent auction, order banquet tickets or obtain more information may contact the chamber office at 870-598-3167. Table reservations must be made by Oct 10, the drawing for table locations will be held Monday, Oct. 20, and set-up will get underway at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

All chamber members, and local residents, are encouraged to make plans to attend the annual banquet, and organizers report that everyone is welcome to wear their own hat to the event.
