Michelle Renee (Pogue) Whalls, 49, of Plano, Tex., formerly of Piggott, died Monday, August 25, 2008. She was born May 9, 1959 in Jonesboro to R.E. and Jacquelyn Pogue.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; a step-son, Marc Whalls; her mother, Jacquelyn Pogue; sisters, Mary Lee Lytle and husband Joe of Little Rock and Melanie Pogue of Piggott; her mother and father-in-law, John and Donna Emmerton of Chicago; father-in-law Tom Whalls of Nebraska; brother-in-laws, Tommy Whalls and wife Jean of Chicago and Anthony Whalls of California; sister-in-law Cathy Scharesh and husband Greg of Daniel, Wyo.; nephews, Booker Mason Lytle and Nicholas Morgan; nieces, Grace Lytle, Jillian Whalls and Megan and Amanda Harrison; a granddaughter, Katriana Whalls and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, R.E. Pogue of Piggott; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Mason of Knobel and Mr. and Mrs. James Allen Pogue Sr.; a niece, Peyton Lytle and several other aunts and uncles.

Michelle grew up in Clay County where she attended Knobel schools and later graduated from Piggott High School. She attended the University of Central Arkansas at Conway.

She represented several fashion designers in the cosmetic industry during her career, and more recently was a multi-state licensed real estate agent in the Dallas area.

She and her husband are members of the Legacy Church in Plano.

A memorial service will be held at the Legacy Church in Plano at noon on Thursday, Aug. 28. Another memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at the First Baptist Church in Piggott.
