George Ronald Wright, 79, of Qulin, died Monday, July 28, 2008, in St. Bernards Regional Medical Center at Jonesboro.

He was born in Carryville on Aug. 26, 1928, the son of the late George R. and Louise (Berry) Wright.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Brown for 27 years and the couple had two children.

His wife Barbara, and his son, David Wright, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son, Brian Wright and wife Monica of Pueblo, Colo.; three grandchildren, Brian Jr., Latashia, and Ashley; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Wanda Morris and husband Maynard of Knobel, and Norma Jean Morris of Rector, along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 1, in the Hoggard and Sons chapel with Gary Hancock officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery at Pollard. Pallbearers were Joe Trout, Jason Burkman, Maynard Morris, James Morris and Brian Wright. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
