Billie June Stephens Hon, 82, daughter of the late Zelmar Forrest and Lessie Emma (Webster) Forrest of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Pollard, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 17, 1926, at Pollard and was married to Leonard Stephens. They had one son, Kelly Lynn Stephens.

She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church at Pollard, was a 25-year member of the ladies auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #3730 in Poplar Bluff, where she worked the bingo hall, served as an officer for several years and was an Auxiliary Mother for many years. She was a homemaker for Butler County Health and retired from Smiley Container Manufacturing of Poplar Bluff after 27 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frances Forrest.

She is survived by her son, Kelly Lynn Stephens of Poplar Bluff, a sister, Narene Simpson of Rogers; two granddaughters, Amber Mowery and Brandi Householder of Piggott; two great-granddaughters, Katlyn Parrish and Shalyn Parrish of Piggott; a great-grandson, Austin Seal of Piggott, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 14, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott. Burial followed at the New Hope Cemetery at Pollard. Arrangements were handled by the Irby Funeral Home of Piggott.
