The 15th Annual Boy Scout Classic Golf Tournament was held at the Paragould Country Club on May 15. A total of 72 golfers participated in the event sponsored by corporate sponsors, Focus Bank and Ritter Communications, and 96 hole sponsors. Hole prizes were donated by another 15 businesses. The team of Andy Fulkerson, C. W. Knauts, Scott Sale and Wixon Huffstudtler won the scramble. Professional Audio of Arkansas sponsored the first place prize of $200. The chance to win $20,000 for a hole-in-one was sponsored by M.F. Block Insurance. Over $12,000 was raised to support Scouting programs in Northeast Arkansas. The annual event has raised a total of $140,000 since 1994. The BSA provides programs for boys ages 6-11 in the Cub Scouts, boys 11-18 in Boy Scouts, and young men and women ages 14-20 in Exploring and Venturing. A committee consisting of Andy Fulkerson, Jeff Block, Owen Lusk, Tim Roswell, John Cook, Jacob Kellett, Chris Cone, Dr. John Bibb and Luke Cook organized the tournament.
