J.V. Rigdon, 72, of McDougal, died Friday, October 26, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

He was born August 2, 1935, in Naylor, Missouri, and was the son of the late Jesse and Alice Campbell Rigdon.

He was united in marriage to Janice Sue Robinson on Feb. 9, 1956, and to this union three children were born.

His wife Janice preceded him in death on September 8, 2005.

J.V. is survived by three children: Ronald Earl Rigdon of the home, Rhonda Sue Phillips of Piggott, and Jay Lynn Rigdon of Corning, two grandsons: Tray Lynn Rigdon of Piggott and Matthew Blake Rigdon of Corning, one great-granddaughter, Alexia Renee Rigdon; one brother, Delmar "Sonny" Rigdon; seven sisters: Daisy Robinson, Melda Karnes, Mamie Adams, Edna Roark, Fern Bartlett, Barbara Demay, and Loretta Blankenship; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 28, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Owen Little officiating. Burial was in the Post Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Morrisett, Jay Finley, Kenneth Ort, Doyne Neeley, Virgil Rice, and Wayne Allmon. Honorary pallbearers are Grover Baker and Junior Honeycutt. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, was in charge of the arrangements.
