Ruth M. Jenkins, 92, of Piggott, passed away Monday, October 29, 2007, at her home.

She was born May 21, 1915, and was the daughter of the late Jessie Lee and Lilly Mae Rogers Neely.

She was united in marriage to Newt Jenkins on Nov. 17, 1934, and to this union a daughter was born.

Ruth was a longtime member of the South Thornton Street Church of Christ in Piggott.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Newt Jenkins; one grandson, Trent Wallace; three sisters, Opal Stahl, Elsie Rogers, and Jessie Payne; and two brothers: Cleon Neely and Willard Neely.

She is survived by her daughter, Cora Mae Wallace of Piggott; five grandchildren: Lenny Wallace and wife Pat of Piggott, Marty Wallace of Poplar Bluff, Trena Zalite and husband Valdis of Piggott, Terry Wallace of Piggott, and Gary Wallace of Poplar Bluff; thirteen great-grandchildren: Leisha, Shanna, Heather, Gena, Trevor, Kristin, Jennifer, Latosha, Michelle, Christopher, Breanna, Dawn, and Eric; and five great-great grandchildren, Kyler, Steven, Gage, Dillon, and Atianna; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were set for Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Richard Akins and Jerry Morgan officiating. Burial was to be in the Piggott Cemetery. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, was in charge of the arrangements.
