Eric was a member of the Thornton Street Church Of Christ, worked 28 years as a warehouse manager for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, was an employee of Irby Funeral Home for years, was a member of the VFW and he was a World War II army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Collier and Beth Morgan and one brother Earl Jones.
He is survived of his wife Lona "Nettles" Jones of the home, two daughters, Carolyn Griffith and husband Bob and Marilyn Nichols and husband Gary, both of Piggott; one brother-in-law Wayne Collier; four grandchildren, Scott Griffith of Jonesboro, La., Kelly George of Arlington, Tex., Erica Harris of Piggott and Rob Nichols of Dexter, Mo.; six great grandchildren, Kaysee, Shelby, Nicholas, Cooper, Cole and Kate, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, June 17, at the Irby home chapel in Piggott.
Funeral services were Monday, June 18, at the Irby chapel with brothers Bob Mcdoniel and Kevin Murray officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott cemetery.
Active pallbearers were: Scott Griffith, Rob Nichols, Wade Harris, Neil Morgan, Kenny Collier, and Bart Benson. Honorary pallbearers were: Ronnie Graddy, Sam Williams, Bill Irby, Jr., Gary Dehls, Wayne Collier and Bill Girtman.
Arrangements were by Irby funeral home of Piggott.
