Johnny "Bill" Mulherin

Johnny "Bill" Mulherin, 79, of Flint Mich., died Friday, May 25, 2007 at the Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich, Mich. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 29, at the Swartz Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald St. Cin officiating. Burial was in the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Masonic services were conducted Monday, May 28 at the funeral home chapel.

Bill Mulherin was born in Carryville, Ark., on July 31, 1927, the son of the late Henry and Ida Mulherin. He'd lived in Flint since 1953. Bill married Mary Harmon on Sep. 27, 1947 in Piggott. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. 1123rd Military Police Company from 1945 to 1947. He attended Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, and was a member, and Past Master, of the Swartz Creek Lodge No. 458, F&AM. Bill was a self-employed master mechanic for over 40 years.

He is survived by his wife Mary and nine children; Patricia Lemek, Dorothy (Duane) Thon, Sandra (Dave) Greanya, Johnny Jr. (Kathy), James (Sue), Michael (Marie), David, Richard (Jennifer), and Tim (Sherri). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and a sister Faye (Henry) Book of Piggott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Earline Straugh.
