Nada "Maxine" Emberton, 81, of Piggott, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at the North East Arkansas Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She worked as a switchboard operator for many years and was of the First Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Edith Sale Douglas; one sister, Jeanette Douglas; and half brother Jackie Douglas.

Survivors include her husband Fred "Doc" Emberton of the home; daughter, Vicki VanKooten of Ottawa, Kans.; son, Ronald Emberton of Savannha, Mo.; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 13, at the Piggott Cemetery with Brother Alan Vaughn officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons: Donnie Bellinger, Kevin Bellinger, Kelvin Bellinger, Freddie Emberton and Mike Emberton.

Arrangements were by Irby Funeral Home of Piggott.
