Delmar Grissom, 86, of Hardin, Ky, formerly of Piggott, died May 15, 2007, at his home. He was a retired police officer from Wayne County, Mich., a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Mary Alice (Verbie) Grissom; a brother J.T. Grissom; and a sister Flora Whaley.

He is survived by his wife Ruby Maxine (Miller) Grissom; sons: Sam Grissom of Howell, Mich., Richard Grissom of Willis, Mich., Charlie Grissom of Hardin, Ky., and Paul Grissom of Muskegon, Mich.; brothers: Ronald Grissom of Wash., Nolan Grissom of Las Vegas, Tommy Grissom of Medford, Ore., Eugene Grissom of Piggott, Kenneth Grissom of Calif., Billy Grissom of Rector and Denver Grissom of Ontario Calif.; sisters: Bertha Houston of Pittsburg, Mo., Lowanda Comer of Collinsville, Ill., and Barbara Sue Drury of St. Louis. He was also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Collier Funeral Home, of Benton Ky., was in charge of the arrangements.
