Gillis Neeley, 72, of St. Francis, died Saturday, May 19, 2007 in the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.

He was born October 22, 1934 in Malden, Mo., the son of the late Herman Curtis and Dessie Mae Hoots Neeley.

He was married to Peggy Lou Province on Jan. 19, 1957 and to this union two children were born.

He worked for Morris Farm Center in St. Francis for approximately forty years and retired in 1997.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Neeley of St. Francis; one daughter, Sharon Mann and husband Tony of Piggott; one son Tony Neeley of St. Francis; four grandchildren; Shawn Mann, Andy Neeley, Heather Neeley and Hunter Neeley; two sisters, Melba Pinkston and husband Clyde and Patsy Gatlin and husband Cledis all of St. Louis County, Mo.; one brother, Jimmy Neeley and wife Peggy of Dallas, Tex., and other relatives and friends.

Viewing was Sunday, May 20, with funeral services held Monday, May 21, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Willyene Jordan officiating. Burial is in Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis. Pallbearers were Tony Risinger, Bill Halter, Ronnie Tullos, Clyde Pinkston, Shawn Mann and Andy Neeley. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
