He was born Jan. 15, 1916 in Melbourne, the son of the late Tilford and Ida Haney Melton.
He was preceded in death by; one son Harold Melton; one daughter, Ruthie Floyd; two brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by; four grandchildren, Terry Goff of Grand Bay, Ala.; Michael Melton of Pulaski, Tenn.; Randy Floyd of Barling, Ark.; Kathy Floyd of Mulberry, Ark.; eight great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Jimmie Melton of Grand Bay; son-in-law, James Floyd of Mulberry; a very special friend, Bonnie Wideman of St. Louis; nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Sunday and graveside services were held Monday, May 7, in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, with J. T. Ashby officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
