He was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Crockett to the late Bert and Clara Watson.
Mr. watson served in the Navy during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1945. He married Jewell Francis Brandon in November 1945. They had two children, Vicky Watson Luce of Adrian, Mich., and William (Bill) Watson of Rector. Mr. Watson then married Isabel Rodruquez on June 25, 1962, in Benghazi, Libya.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle "Ken" Watson; one sister, Eva Watson, and one great-grandchild.
Survivors inclue his wife of 44 years, Isabel Watson of Piggott; one daughter, Vicky Luce of Adrian, Mich.; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Donna Watson of Rector; eight grandchildren, Rhonda Robinson, Debbie Stoddard, Ronnie Gilbert, Norman Gilbert, William Gilbert and Jason Watson, all of Adrian, Mich., Kassandra Watson Adams of Paragould and Brian Watson of Rector; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; four brothers, John Watson and Bert Watson of Piggott, Norman Leon "Pete" Watson of Corning and James "Fat" Watson of Memphis; four sisters, Myrtle and Shirley Satterfield, Shelba Lewis of St. Louis and Neva Hopper of Piggott, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 1, at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott with Matthew Watson, Thavis Lewis and Charles Cooper officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery with Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Brian Watson, Dan Watson, Kevin Lewis, Mike Satterfield, Keith Satterfield and Tim Watson.
Honorary pallbearers were Bert Watson, Charles Watson, Clay Watson, Greg Watson and Jim Watson.
