Bessie Hodge, 89, of Morley, Mo. formerly of Pollard, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 in Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born Dec. 5, 1917 in Pollard, the daughter of the late Luther Edgar and Tinna Elizebeth Pollard Evans.

She was united in marriage to Jessie Leeman Hodge on July 3, 1933. To this union four children were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Leeman Hodge in 1974; three sons, Jesse Leeman, Ronald Leon Hodge and Leroy Evans; three brothers, Lowell, James, and Royce Evans; and one sister Mary Lee Dunlap.

She is survived by one son, Dairel Hodge of Oran, Mo.; one daughter, Betty Banks of Morley, Mo.; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Eugene Evans; two sisters, Louise Cooper and Darlene Potts; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 23, in Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Brian Flannigan officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of arrangements.
