He was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Pollard to John Henry and Florence Crocker Brawner.
He was retired from General Motors where he was a production worker for more than thirty years. He also drove a school bus for the Springdale School System for fourteen years. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, served in the Navy and enjoyed all sports and walking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Lucille Lee Brawner of the home; son James Brawner and wife, Janet of Mustang, Okla.; two daughters, Sonya Simpson and husband Don, of Springdale, and Sherry Johnson and husband Robert, of Commerce, Tex.; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at the Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Criswell and Rev. Guy Durkees officiating.
Burial followed in Elm Springs Cemetery.
