Herbert Truman Malin, 92, of Campbell, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.

He was born April 13, 1914 in Nimmons, the son of the late William Walter Malin and Margaret Elmeda (Crawford) Malin. He married Althea May McElyea on July 12, 1931 in Piggott. She preceded him in death Feb. 21, 2004.

He was a retired farmer who had lived in the McElyea Community for over 75 years and attended school in the McElyea Community. He was a member of the Whiteaker General Baptist Church for over 60 years.

He is survived by one son, Gerald Ray Malin and wife, Aletha of Campbell; one grandson, Gerald Ray Malin, Jr. of Campbell; two great-grandchildren, Amber and Zachary Malin of Campbell; six nieces and nine nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Violet Malin, Mary Parrent, Beulah Harper, and Ruth Allen; and six brothers, Clinton Malin, Odis Malin, Warren Malin, William Onie Malin, John Malin, and Elbert Malin.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell with Rev. Darren Baker officiating. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery-Landess Addition in Campbell.
