He was born July 30, 1931, in Gideon, Mo., to the late Joseph T. Cheshire Sr. and Sarah (Turner) Cheshire and was married Aug. 25, 1950, in Piggott to the former Frankie Pearson. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Byrum.
Survivors include his wife, Frankie Cheshire, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe W. and Lee Cheshire of Paragould and Danny and Beth Cheshire of Pollard; two daughters, Karon Gilkison of Paragould and Kathy Murray of Paragould; one brother, Charles James; one sister, Peggy Parker of St. Louis, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Jackie Straub, Jamie Thomason, Logan Cheshire, Daniel Cheshire, Matthew Cheshire, Misty Murray, Mindy Williams, Shelley Moore, Gary Gilkison and Christie Gilkison, and 13 great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Mackenzie, Hayden, Callie, Christian, Abby Jo, Shelby, Amber, Zack, Kiersten, Emma, Kobe and Andrew.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were Logan Cheshire, Danny Cheshire, Matt Williams, Delain Moore, Sean Straub and Lenny Cutherbertson. Honorary pallbearers were Shelley Moore, Jackie Straub, Misty Murray, Jamie Thomason, Mindy Williams and Christie Gilkison.
