Lillie Mae Bratcher

Lillie Mae Bratcher, 90, of Concord Michigan, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007 at Foote Hospital. She was born Nov. 29, 1916, in Piggott, to Elvis and Ella (Long) Baker. She married Eugene Bratcher on Dec. 26, 1934. Her father died when she was only two and she was raised by her step-father, John Harvey Bess, who was a veterinarian in Piggott for many years. She moved to Michigan in 1937.

Lillie worked in housekeeping at Albion College for twenty-four years, retiring in 1976. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, walking, and knitting.

Survivors include daughter, Nelda (Mike) Sheffield; sister, Wanlea Crank Davison; grandchildren, Richard (Karen) Sheffield, of Concord, Jeff Sheffield of Concord, Terri Lerma of Utah, Cyndi (Chris) Anderson of Albion, Michele McKay of Concord; six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and several step-brothers and sisters.

A special gathering was held Monday, Feb. 5, by family and friends at the Kevin Tidd Funeral Home in Albion. Memorials may be made to donor's choice.
