He was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Piggott, and was the son of the late George and Minnie Carlson Fisher.
He was preceded in death in 1975 by his wife Eunice Kiel of twenty-seven years; and in 2006 by his second wife Cathey Carlene Davis of thirty years; two sisters, Anna Mae and husband Leroy French and Mary Fisher; and brother-in law, Ralph Poole.
He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and Gardening. He served in the United States Army in World War II.
He is survived by four daughters, Sue Burton and husband Jim of Copperas Cove, Tex., Peggy McCrory and husband Mike of Coloma, Mich., Patti Tober and husband Stan of Watervliet, Michigan and Pat Roetzel and husband Rocky of Kennett, Mo.; three sons, Buddy Claflin of San Bernardino, Calif., Derriss Essmyer, and Leon Essmyer of Watervliet, Mich.; twenty grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dolly Poole of Piggott, Agnes Moore and husband Elmo of Piggott, and Alene Wood and husband Don of Atlanta; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Saturday and funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Mike Book officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott will be in charge of the arrangements.
