He was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Missouri and was the son of the late Willie R. and Ruthie Jane (Seets) Farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Mae Farmer; two brothers: Bill and Frank Farmer; and one grandson, Braxton Stokes.
He is survived by his daughter Pam Stokes and husband Robert of Rector; four grandchildren: Cheyenne, Robert Jr., Schylar, and Richard; three brothers: Charles Farmer of Marmaduke, Donald Farmer of Viola, Ark., and John Farmer of Salem, Ark.; two sisters: Mildred Giddings of Bloomington, Ill. and Margie Parton of Salem; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Shelly Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Harvey Chapel in Marmaduke.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Stokes, Jerry Stokes, Jerry Midkiff, Bobby Parkus, Roger Forbes, and Jimmy Eaton. Honorary pallbearer will be grandson, Robert Stokes, Jr.
Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott will be in charge of the arrangements.
