Elbert Mallard, 63, of Pollard, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, in St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was born Oct. 20, 1943, in Pollard and was the son of the late Walter and Altie (Reed) Mallard.

He was united in marriage to Judy McLeskey on Oct. 5, 1963 and to this union five children were born.

He was a Mason and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge #207.

He is survived by his wife Judy of Pollard, five children; Kim Moore and husband Ronnie of Maynard, Greg Mallard and wife Tracey of Piggott, David Mallard of Piggott, Brad Mallard and wife Susie of Menifee, Calif., and Debbie Mallard of Piggott; five grandchildren, Eric and Caleb Moore and Jessica, Nate, and Ella Mallard; four brothers, Jr., Bob, Curt, and Billy Mallard; mother-in-law, Charlotte McLeskey, and many other relatives and friends.

A Masonic service was held on Dec. 21, and funeral services were held Dec. 22, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Gary Hancock officiating. Burial is in the New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers were nephews, Scott Mallard, Shane McLeskey, Matt Mallard, Todd Mallard, Shane Mallard, and J.C. Helms.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home were in charge of the arrangements.
