She was born Oct. 29, 1916 in Damascus, Ark. She married Harold Albert Brown on April 16, 1938. They had four children. Billy C., Fairy Ann, Brenda J and Bruce Albert. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1986, son Billy C. of Coldwater, Mich. and daugter Fairy Ann of Denver, Colo. Mrs. Brown's brother preceded her in death leaving her his two children to raise, Cleo and Lela Latimer. She has been an ordained sister and a member of the Pacific Heights congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Currently she was a member of the Red Bridge Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was an active Witness for over 51 years. She and her husband owned The Sports Man's Center in Independance for 23 years and retired in 1968. Later they moved to Grain Valley, Boliver, Mo. and back to Independance.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda Vrabel of Leawood, Kans, son Bruce Brown of Shawnee, Kans., 23 grandchildren, 3 foster grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Memoral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5 at D.V. Newcomer's Sons, Floral Hills Chapel.
