Clarence "Wimpy" Coye Thomas, 83, of Piggott died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006, at the Veterans' Hospital in Poplar Bluff.

He was born July 20, 1923, and was the son of the late Millard and Laura (Lands) Thomas.

He was united in marriage to Opal F. Easterwood on Nov. 29, 1947. They had three children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal, on April 17, 2006.

He is survived by three children and one daughter-in-law, Janice Johnson, Eddie and Sue Thomas and Robin Harmon, all of Piggott; four grandchildren, Jim Roberts, Amy McPherson, Mandi Pickering and Bradley Harmon; two sisters, Juanita Riddle of Burton, Mich., and Georgia Lee Redman of Piggott; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Charles Richardson officiating. Burial was in the Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway. Pallbearers were Jim Roberts, John Pickering, Rusty McPherson, Clifford Buchanan, Troy Redman, Leland Riddle and Bradley Harmon. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
