Clara Bell Grissom Baker, 90, of Piggott, passed away Aug. 17, 2006, in the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.

She was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Pollard, and was the daughter of the late Pearl and Eva Dovey (Simmons) Grissom.

She was united in marriage to Henry Dallas Baker on Sept. 23, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1979.

She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Eva Bonita, on Dec. 16, 1945; three sisters, Estell McElyea, Georgia Williams and Ruth Grissom; and three brothers, Wayne Grissom, Elbert Grissom and William H. Grissom.

She is survived by one sister, LouVonda Vaughn, of Kentucky and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers were Fred Williams Jr., Jim Renard, Clovis Grissom, Steve Baker, Jack Baker, Kenneth Grissom and Zack Baker.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
