Ora Modena Potts, 84, of Bartlett, Tenn., formerly of Greenway and Paragould, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 3, 1921, in Guy, the daughter of the late James Elmer and Cora Ann (Hooper) Steward.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was united in marriage to William Potts on Sept. 2, 1939. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2000. They had two sons.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Wendell Potts; one great-grandson, Dustin McIntosh; two brothers, Amon Steward and James Steward; and four sisters, Ida, Grace, Elva and Pearl.

She is survived by one son, Ray Potts and wife, Roma, of Bartlett, Tenn.; one daughter-in-law, Geraldine Potts of Dallas; six grandchildren, Joy Waugh and husband, Chad, of Mesquite, Texas, Angie McIntosh and husband, Jim, of Pollard, Pamela Crocker and husband, Steve, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Shawn Potts and wife, Jennifer, of Cedar Hill, Texas, Kenneth Potts and wife, Mindy, of Drummonds, Tenn., and Shane Potts of Dallas; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman Steward and wife, Marietta, of Piggott; one sister, Velma Potts and husband, Pete, of Piggott; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2006, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Ron Black officiating. Burial followed in the Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway. Pallbearers were Kenneth Potts, Chad Waugh, Shawn Potts, Shane Potts, Jim McIntosh and Chord McIntosh.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
