R.A. Simpson, 89, of Casa Grande, Ariz., died on Saturday, July 8, 2006.

He was born Sept. 24, 1916, at Greenway, the son of the late Elmer and Laura Cox Simpson.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a 50-year Mason. He was a lifelong farmer and

heavy equipment operator.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Davis Simpson; four sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Monedith; sons, Dewon, Doyle Dean and Darrell; and a daughter, Dian Simpson Foltz. He also leaves stepdaughters Robin Wawryznski and Sherry Simmons; and one sister, Vera Atkinson; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Masonic Lodge in Piggott at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local Hospice.
