Melba Jean Cummins, 74, of St. Peters, Mo., died on Thursday, July 13, 2006, at NHC Healthcare Center of St. Charles, Mo.

She was born Thursday, Sept. 3, 1931, in Pollard, the daughter of the late Ernest and Irene Janes.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Cummins; and one brother, Phillip Jones.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Cummins and Patrick Cummins; one daughter, Irene Janes; four siblings, Karen Blackmore, Willie Jo Metz, Marie Wong and Eric Jones; three grandchildren, Kristyna, Jennifer and Timothy; and one great-granddaughter, Saphron.

Funeral services were held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Stygar Mid Rivers Funeral Home in St. Charles, Mo., with Thomas Bennett officiating. Burial followed on Sunday, July 16, in New Hope Cemetery at Pollard.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the graveside service.
