She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer William Baker; parents, Charlie and Lula (Richardson) Ellis; one son, Gary Baker; two sisters, Thela Jane Stinett and Beatrice Thompson; and two brothers, Charlie Ellis and Bill Ellis.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Mallard of Hebron, Ind., Gloria Croy of Hernando, Miss., and Rita Hodnett of Winter Haven, Fla.; three sons, Tommy Baker of Water Valley, Miss., Edward Baker of Estero, Fla., and Cecil Baker of Clarksville, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Homer Ellis of Wheatley; and many other loving friends and family members.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2006, in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, Miss., with Rev. Freddie Moorman officiating. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2006, at New Hope Cemetery in Pollard.
Irby Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the local arrangements.
