Marvin Owen, 72, of Piggott died Thursday, June 8, 2006, in the Piggott Community Hospital.

He was born June 13, 1933, in Nimmons, the son of the late Vessie and Mary Williams Owen.

He was united in marriage to Betty Sue Evans on June 29, 1951. They had three children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, L.J. and Sherman Owen; and four sisters, Francis, Wilma Dean, Viola and Ruby.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Owen; one son, Johnny Owen and wife, Dawn, of Piggott; two daughters, Carolyn Landrum and husband, Sammy, of Greenway and Judy Owen of Maypearl, Texas; nine grandchildren, Joshua Owen, Sierra Owen, Adam Landrum and wife, Ollie, Daniel Landrum and wife, Courtney, Evan Landrum, Logan Landrum, Emily Lebetter, Brandon Ledbetter and Alan Ledbetter; one brother, Junior Owen; two sisters, Margy and Wanda Lee; his mother-in-law, Hazel Evans of Piggott; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with c. Ray Miller officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Pallbearers were his grandsons.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
