She was born on Feb. 22, 1944, in Wardell, Mo., the daughter of the late Cecil Hampton and Ruth Cheshire Hampton.
She was united in marriage to Limuel Blurton on July 16, 1966, in Wardell, Mo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son; one sister, Melba Shumate; and three brothers, Cecil Hampton, Leon Hampton and Jerry Hampton.
Survivors include her husband, Limuel Blurton of Ellsinore, Mo.; three daughters, Vickie Hankins of Chatham, Ill., Teresa Herren of Caruthersville, Mo., and Karren Shaffer of Ellsinore, Mo.; two sons, Glen Stansell of Ellsinore, Mo., and Dewayne Blurton of Piggott; three sisters, Dorothy Buck of Poplar Bluff, Earlene Sentell of Qulin and Julia Hampton of Ellsinore, Mo.; six brothers, Eugene Hampton of St. Louis, Harold Hampton of Branson, Darryl Minton of Doniphan, Mo., James Minton of Horn Lake, Miss., Doug Minton of Caruthersville, Mo., and Dalton Minton of Flint, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at the Bradshaw Chapel in Wardell, Mo., with Rev. William Quillin officiating. Burial followed in the Wardell Memorial Cemetery in Wardell.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Wardell was in charge of the arrangements.
