Jimmy D. McLeskey

Jimmy D. McLeskey, 70, of Elizabeth, Ark., died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at his daughter's home in Jonesboro.

Born in Piggott, he moved to Jonesboro in 1964 and had moved to Elizabeth about five years ago. He was a building contractor and a Navy veteran.

He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. He loved his church and also loved fishing.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Grimes McLeskey; two sons, Jerry Keith Summers and wife, Brenda, and William "Butch" Summers, both of Jonesboro; three daughters, Sue Summers of Jonesboro, Sarah Ann Parker of Houston, Texas, and Terry Lynn McLeskey Needham and husband, Mark, of Jonesboro; one goddaughter, Letha Grimm and husband, Paul, of Jonesboro; three brothers, Paul McLeskey of Livonia, Mich., Ivan McLeskey of Dunigan, Calif., and Douglas "Sonny" McLeskey of Lafe; six sisters, Juanita Bookout of Madison Heights, Mich., Lucille Jewell of Alton, Mo., Geraldine Harmon of Piggott, Ella Jean Martin of Mountain Home, Barbara Pareizs of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Linda Sue Smith of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Redus and husband, Ken, Jackie Dotson, Ashley Dotson, Jared West, Justin West, Chelsey Needham Gann, Sarah Summers and Katie Summers; and five great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Tyler, Krista, Jaelah and Ali'ah. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Warren Newman and Joey Rupard officiating. Burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial park Cemetery.
