Vera Herring

Vera Herring, 91, of McDougal died Friday, April 14, 2006, in the Gideon Care Center in Gideon, Mo.

She was born Jan. 1, 1915, in Senath, Mo., the daughter of the late John and Frances Barker Sutfin.

She was united in marriage to Connride Herring on Oct. 1, 1938. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1989.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eulas Sutfin and Ollen Sutfin; and one son-in-law, J.C. McKenney.

She is survived by two daughters, Loretta McKenney of McDougal and Diane Parrish and husband, Eldon, of Piggott; six grandchildren, Darlene Ward, Teresa Calhoun, Gavin Grissom, Randy Parrish, Leslie Parrish and Leah Kilbreath; one sister, Marie Gilbee of Corning; seven great-grandchildren, Shane Ward, Danielle Francis, Christal Smith, Bentley Parrish, Kyle Thompson, Chelsey Kilbreath and Matthew Parrish; five great-great-grandchildren, Jessie Ward, Jacob Ward, Austin Francis, Fisher Francis and Hunter Smith; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Danny Self and Eldon Parrish officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers were Mike Ward, Danny Calhoun, Shane Ward, Kenny Francis, Gavin Grissom and Charles Morrisett.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
