He was born on Oct. 30, 1924, in McDougal, the son of the late William Arthur and Della Dorothea (Dobbins) Bennett.
Mr. Bennett was a retired machinist. He retired from Industrial Techtonics Inc. after 31 years of service. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a two sisters, Thela Kaiser and Wilma Roach; and a brother, Brice Bennett.
Survivors include his wife, Myra Elizatene (Gribble) Bennett of the home in Corning; two daughters, Judy Balyeat and husband, Rodney, of Tecumseh, Mich., and Kathy Field and husband, Mark, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; one brother, James Bennett of Ypsilanti, Mich.; two sisters, Lucille Downey of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and Syble Fields of Ann Arbor, Mich.; two grandchildren, Todd and Trevor Balyeat; and two great-grandchildren, Chase and Peyton.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning with Rev. Loy Culver officiating. Burial will follow in Post Oak Cemetery at McDougal.
