Floyd J.D. Brown, known as "Peck" by family and close friends, died at the Piggott Hospital on Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at the age of 75.

He was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Kennett, the son of the late Dewey and Gladys (Kirby) Brown.

Mr. Brown was a local farmer for many years. He was of the Church of Christ faith and was baptized on July 22, 2004.

He was married to Dorothy Laws on Sept. 29, 1951. They had three daughters, Linda Wells and husband, Newton Wells Jr., Cathy Branson and husband, Allen, and Sandy Seal and husband, Tony.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Lee, Doc, Sam and Elvis Brown; and one sister, Virginia Brown.

He is survived by his three daughters; three grandsons, Adam Branson and wife, Tonya, Michael Branson and wife, Tiffany, and Alex Seal; three granddaughters, Robbie Wells, Paula Holcomb and Tiffany Branson; one great-granddaughter, Katie Branson; two great-grandsons, Hunter and Ethan Holcomb; one sister, Hency Smith of Bernie; and many other friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Michell Cemetery in Greenway with Bro. Art Smith officiating. Pallbearers were Adam Branson, Michael Branson, Michael Culver, Wesley Brown, Luke Hollis and Darren Burdin.

Irby Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
