He was born July 15, 1954, the son of Charles and Letha Williams Read.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Read; and two brothers, Rudy and Nickey Read.

He is survived by his mother, Letha Read of Biggers; wife, Tracy Parrish Read of Brighton, Mich.; three children, Raven Read and Cody Read of Brighton, Mich., and Rocky Hampton and wife, Carrie, of Reyno; two grandchildren, Allison and Seth Hampton, both of Reyno; three sisters, Janice Read of McDougal, Gwen Bradshaw of Biggers and Cindy Bolen of Biggers; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at the Hoggard and Sons Chapel in Piggott with Eldon Parrish officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Pallbearers were Jimmy Russian, Shawn Read, Keith Garver, Jack Cooper, Donnie Cooper and Joe Janssen.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
