Ozie Turner Burkheart, 99, of Piggott died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, in Piggott.

She was born July 1, 1906, in Crockett, the daughter of the late Jimmy and Dora Foster Grissom.

She was united in marriage to Cecil Charlie Turner, he preceded her in death on April 29, 1962. She married Dillard Burkheart and he preceded her in death in 1990.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Faye McGee; one son, Darrell Turner; four sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by eight children, Lillian Wood of Jonesboro, Dora Lee Sample of Victorville, Calif., Charlene Allen of Rector, Jack Turner of Florissant, Mo., Juanita Haley, Jean Moore, Aldion Turner and Frankie Turner, all of Piggott; two stepdaughters, Shirley Gower of Arizona and Leona Brackett of Michigan; two stepsons, Charles Burkheart of Illinois and Donald Burkheart of Arkansas; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Wanda Ward, Janet Randolph and Garnetta Galyean; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday (today), Nov. 2, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Kim Bridges and Kevin Murray officiating. Burial will follow in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Burkheart's grandsons, Greg Moore, Ricky Haley, Jeff Turner, Stuart Turner, Gary Turner, Vance Turner, Larry Wood, Charles Sample, Richard Allen, Steve McGee and Michael McGee.
