James Morgan, 79, of Piggott died Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, in the Piggott Community Hospital.

He was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Leonard, the son of the late Robert Wesley and Nancy Emmaline Grogan Morgan.

He was united in marriage to Maxine Evans on May 2, 1946. They had seven daughters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons; and eight brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Morgan of Piggott; seven daughters, Ann Carman of Piggott, Nancy Hyde of Walcott, Phyllis Richey of Marmaduke, Mary Burton of Paragould, Paula Morgan of Pocahontas, Jill Midkiff of Piggott and Connie Baker of Rector; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernadine Adams of Rector; one brother, Joe Morgan of Rector; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Mike Book officiating. Burial followed in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Pallbearers were John Midkiff, Justin Midkiff, Aaron Midkiff, Mickey Burton, Terry Wilson and Brian Haley.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
