He was born June 23, 1929, in Cardwell, the son of the late Sherman and Dora White.
He was a farmer and a member of the Rector General Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death was one son, Gary White; and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie White of the home; three sons, Jerry White and Neal White, both of Rector, and Robert White of Paragould; three daughters, Melinda Grooms of Paragould, Starlet Barker and Regenia Smith, both of Piggott; two sisters, Betty Gray of Owasso, Mich., and Juanita Horner of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday (today), Sept. 28, 2005, at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Bro. Mark Book and Bro. Marston Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ron Benson, Randy Rogers, Junior Carpenter, Clovis DeMent, Jim Mabrey and Ralph Featherston. Honorary pallbearers will be Marion Gardner, Dwayne Birmingham, Buell Shelton, Donald Rogers, Mac Manchester, R.L. Hill and Ray Priest.
