Derick Stephen Robertson, 21, of Rector died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at Piggott Community Hospital.

Born March 8, 1984, in Paragould to Terry and Barbara Robertson, he was a jailer for the Clay County Sheriff 's Department and a member of Hargrave Corner Evangelical Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Doyle Robertson.

Survivors include his parents, Terry and Barbara (Speer) Robertson; one brother and sister-in-law, Zachary and Jessica Robertson; one sister, Tara Robertson; and one niece, Katelyn Robertson, all of Rector; grandparents, Harold Speer of Greenway, Vonna Lou Speer of Rector and Martha Dean Robertson of Gladewater, Texas; three uncles, Stephen and Angel Speer, Jim and Nikki Speer, all of Rector, and Dennis and Janet Robertson of Gladewater, Texas; one aunt, Deena and Darryl Carter of Tyler, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at Hargrave Corner Evangelical Methodist Church with Pastor Freddie Barker officiating. Burial followed in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were members of the Clay County Sheriff's Department.
