Essie Almareta Barker Shaw, 85, of Piggott died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at her residence in Piggott.

She was born November 26, 1919, at Hargrave Corner, the daughter of the late Everett and Bertha Barker.

Mrs. Shaw was of the General Baptist faith. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Shaw; and three brothers, Denver, Delbert and Charlie Barker.

She is survived by two sons, Bob Shaw and daughter-in-law, Annie, of Rector and Jim Shaw and daughter-in-law, Tami, of Pollard; one daughter, Jane Shaw of Piggott; one sister, Loreta Owens of Paragould; and three grandchildren, Craig, Chance and Cody Shaw of Pollard.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Bro. Gary Hancock officiating. Burial followed in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Pallbearers were Chance Shaw, Danny Barker, Cody Shaw, Mick Barker, Steven Underwood and Rick Pounds.

Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of the arrangements.
