Jerry Thomas Gilkison, 73, died Thursday, Sept.3, 2005, at his home in Rector.

Born June 21, 1932, in Rector to the late Joe Gilkison and Julie (Layne) Gilkison, he was a barber, an Army veteran and of the Church of Christ faith.

He also was preceded in death by a son, Gary Gilkison; two brothers, Eugene and Randel Gilkison, and three sisters, Blanche Gilkison, Gladys Turnbo and Jeanne Pratt.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Shelley Moore of Piggott and Gary Lee Gilkison and Christie Gilkison, both of Paragould; three great-grandchildren, Shelby, Amber and Zachary Moore of Piggott; one brother, Joe Gilkison of California; one sister, Esther Kitterman of Jonesboro, and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery at Pollard with Irby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Gary Gilkison, Gary Moore Jr., Dennis Stahl, Chris Crawford, Corky Davis and Jerrod Bishop.
