He was born to Laymon "Buck" and Katie Millikin near Knobel on Nov. 24, 1934.
Bro. Millikin served as pastor of First Baptist Church (FBC) of Concord for the last 14 years. Prior to moving to Concord, he and his wife, Margaret, lived in Forrest City for 26 years where he established Faith Baptist Church and Faith Christian Home for Children. He pastored other churches in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas prior to Forrest City. For the past five years Bro. Millikin volunteered as Deputy Chief Chaplain of the Arkansas Civil Air Patrol where he earned the rank of Captain.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret Lee Millikin; two daughters, Judy Thomas and husband, Wayde, of Forrest City and Janet O'Connor of Kirkland, Wash.; and two sons, Mark Millikin and wife, Rebecca, of Vilonia and Jacob Millikin and wife, Dana, of Batesville; seven grandchildren, Steven and Seth Thomas, Delaney Jeude, and Joshua, Abigail, Wyatt and Lauren Millikin. He is also survived by his mother, Katie Millikin of Greenway; and three brothers, Dr. Jimmy Millikin of Marion, Jackie Millikin of Paragould and Harold Millikin of Greenway. He leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and countless brothers and sisters in Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at FBC in Concord. Officiating will be his brother, Dr. Jimmy Millikin. Internment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Banner, Ark. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday (today), Sept 14, at FBC in Concord.
