Ethel A. Sells Crawford

Ethel A. Sells Crawford of Malvern, formerly of Piggott, was born April 5, 1921, near Hickoria in Clay County. She was the daughter of the late Lewis C. and Elizabeth Small Sells. She died on Aug. 31, 2005, due to complications of cancer.

Since retiring from Brown Shoe Company in Piggott, Mrs. Crawford assisted in caring and cooking for others. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling, feeding birds and watching the birds and squirrels.

She made a profession of faith on Aug. 21, 1933, in the arbor in front of Mrs. Batton's home, during a meeting presided over by Bro. T.L. Cate and became a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Hickoria.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby J. Crawford; and two half-brothers, Clyde Sells of Duran, Mich., and Henry Sells of Eugene, Oreg.

Survivors include a son, Clif Crawford and wife, Jerri, of Malvern; daughter, Gracedith Wilson of Rosenberg, Texas; grandson, Keith Crawford of Malvern; granddaughter, Delinda Cisco of Doniphan, Mo.; one great-granddaughter, Breann Wilson of Doniphan; and two brothers, Cecil Sells and Floyd Sells, both of Clarksville, Ark.

Visitation was held at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2. A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Piggott Cemetery with Junior Small officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Dillard, Eddie Benbrook, Jim Duty, Jim Nichols, Paul Crawford and Kelly Cisco.

Regency Funeral Home of Malvern was in charge of the arrangements.
